Amber Merichello

Amber has lived in Celebration, under the shadow of the Walt Disney World complex proper, all of her life. Because of this, she is a die hard Disney Otaku. And by Otaku, she is a fan of the more classic films from Walt’s life and a good chunk of the renaissance era in the 80s and 90s (Before Michael Eisner became a douche in her eyes.) She’s often not around dressed like a 50s style Mousketeer, in a castmember-like costume that she styled herself. A gown that resembles one of the Princesses, or so on. But she had dreams that go beyond being a common castmember. She excels in script writing, animation art, and video production and she has a dream of being a feature Animator. The hand drawn variety.

Unfortunately, the execs who only see in marketability, animation stereotypes, and the latest technology (CGI) don’t see things her way. They’re actually shocked to find someone who would actually want to see old-school animation with the risk their companies founder is known for taking. Even though times have changed somewhat and hand-drawn animation is on the return, the prevailing expectations of what animation is, or rather, should be, have choked out a lot of new thought in the minds of the company brass, and is the source of a lot of disappointment and even disenchantment in Amber.

On her way home on a light rail car, she wished on a star for something to get her career, and her life, going in the way Walt had. Much like what happened in that fateful train ride where Walt found Mickey.

It was the similar style that Amber found Johnny. Or rather, it was Johnny that flew into an open door and into her arms, almost hand delivered by the Blue Fairy in Amber’s eyes.

Once she nursed Johnny to health, thanks to her veterinarian Mother, Terri and her scientist Father, Leon, Amber shared her dreams and ideals onto the young mouse. She saw him as a throwback of the classical cartoon era, and even back to the 1920s–when Mickey Mouse was a bit of a wild child–as she dressed him up in black. She began to film Johnny as he’s out and about, presenting him as a ‘live cartoon character,’ and eventually staging webisodes that resembled the classical cartoons. The quality might pale in comparison to the major studios, but the charm and concept was too irresistible not to have it go viral.

Outside the camera, Amber is often not without Johnny either scurrying behind or being carried. He treats him like a little brother at times, a best friend and confidant at others. And even when she snuggles with him, she couldn’t help but hold on to him like a little boyfriend. It’s probably because of the mouse keeping himself clean. Would they end up being an item? Perhaps, perhaps. They body would know that their relationship can’t actually get much far, but they do enjoy each other’s company, and they find their suggling and snogging very comforting.

It’s not uncommon for Amber to dress like a Mousketeer. She’s actually named after Annette Funicello, the most famous classic Mousketeer. I made a derivation of the name for originality. Her body type and hair and eye color is similar to Annette, with the addition of her hair made up to resemble Ariel (the Little Mermaid) for added effect.

And before you ask, yes, she does have a navel. Johnny checked.

Johnny is the only one allowed to be that close to her.

And no, there is no history of MS in her family or will be stricken by that anytime soon.
